Border den's

First time at the groomer

There is a first for everything. She needs to be comfortable with manipulation, water et all.

Learning patience

This doesn’t seem like a lot of work, some people might call this boring. But for me, it’s one of the most important lessons she needs to learn: we are not always doing something exciting. She needs to learn to wait and to have some patience. Those sessions can be for 1 to 3 hours of waiting in public.

Why so long? If you only do this for a bunch of minutes, the dog will not understand that it needs to relax. In public, there is always stimulation around them and you want them to ignore those stimulations and relax near you instead.

The sooner you can start this process, the better. And multiple sessions across multiple locations.
